Hello! My name is Norbu Lama

I was born and grew up in the beautiful hill station of India, Darjeeling. I have been flying paragliders in the Himalayas and started his paragliding career since 2014. I have done my Paragliding course from one of the reputed paragliding school in India, “Indus Paragliding” I am recently working at an Australian based Adventure Tour Company “Blue Dragon Adventure”

I am the only Civilian paragliding pilot from Darjeeling to hold a valid paragliding pilot rating card from paragliding Association of India (PAI). 

I have been working and exploring the best flying sites in and around Darjeeling region. I have just started his competition career in 2018.

My previous competition was: PRE WORLD CUP MIZORAM OPEN ACCURACY CHAMPIONSHIP 2018 which was held on Serchhip – Mizoram from 4th December – 8th December 2018. During that competition, I got to achieve the overall position on 17th out of 52 paragliding pilots. And now in Indian National, I am in the position of 29th out of more than 1000 paragliding accuracy competition pilots in India.

It is every athlete's dream to take part in International and World championships in the field of sports and represent our country. 

It is the result of my restless hard work, practice and effort. But, financially I'm constrained and in short of fund that covers my expense to buy a paragliding equipment

During the competitions, I have to shell out close to Rs 40,000/- INR from my pocket every year to participate in competitions around India.  Registration fees for the competition will be approx Rs 10000/- INR then there is a travel fare of each way, accommodation and food as well. The event will be of 5days (maximum) so if I participate I need to go a week advance to practice and to get familiar with the flying site. 

The paragliding equipment for International Paragliding Accuracy Championship needs to be best. Right now I don’t have new and fully competitive paragliding equipment. The glider for this competition itself cost approx 3675 Euro then the harness and reserve parachute is separate of approx 600 euro each. The paragliding equipment, which needs to be upgraded every few years to participate in competitions, burns a bigger hole in the pocket. 

 I humbly request you to contribute a small amount, even a little means so much. I hereby promise that each and every penny you give will be used solely for this purpose. Till now I spent more than my earnings, looking forward to some kind of sponsorship or support to continue my career.  

Thus this letter of introduction is not only to inform you that I will be participating in National & International competitions but, also to request your support in whatever way possible – informal support for application or wherever you see fit.

Authenticity is very important. Advertise should always be human and balanced. Openness and clarity.

I know that authentic pleasure in sports makes the difference. So I want to be able to convey this to the people, to inspire and therefore necessarily to have positive influence. Sponsors I see as mutual support, both for the sponsor for representing the brand, which should be brought to life and close to people, and that can only be done by other, inspiring people, and for the athlete to cover most of his expenses.
