Summary
Description
Based in Ogden Utah, Weber State University (WSU) men’s soccer has been among the top collegiate club soccer programs in the country competing at both the state and national level since 1985. WSU men’s soccer competes in the West Coast Soccer Association with teams such as BYU, University of Utah, Utah State, Utah Valley University and Boise State. They also participate in the National Intramural and Recreation Association (“NIRSA”) national league with hundreds of other universities throughout the country. WSU soccer has claimed 6 NIRSA club national titles, in addition to many other NIRSA national tournament appearances, most recently in the 2022 season when the team reached the round of 16. Today WSU soccer has two teams (A and B) playing year round, both locally and traveling outside of Utah to compete against schools and adult soccer clubs from other states. Currently we play our home games at the Spence Eccles Community Sports Complex in front of an enthusiastic WSU soccer fan base.
As a collegiate club team, WSU men’s soccer is a primarily student-run organization supported by a coaching staff and WSU club sports staff. Participation in collegiate club sports is an excellent way for students to develop leadership skills, organizational skills, and to develop lifelong connections with other students, staff and members of the community. It also provides access to resources and funding for the players’ college education and opportunities for service in the community. And, it provides motivated and talented soccer enthusiasts an opportunity to play soccer at a high level representing Weber State.
